The Answers to All Your Questions

Our help center can instantly give you answer to many frequently asked questions.

What is Cambria?

Cambria is a natural, quartz surfacing product that has a variety of uses in your home such as countertops, floor tile, vanities, fireplace surrounds, wet bars, showers, etc. It has the natural look and feel of granite, but with superior performance because of its strength and durability. It is nonporous and will not absorb food and liquids like granite does. And best of all, it is maintenance-free.

How does Cambria compare to granite?

Cambria is quartz, a natural stone. You get the look and feel of granite, but it is nonporous and maintenance free. Just wash it with warm water, use mild soap if desired. Cambria won’t stain, and it never needs sealing or reconditioning. Granite is a porous stone. It needs to be sealed regularly with a chemical treatment. It can absorb liquids and food, risking potential staining and bacterial growth in the countertop.

What is Cambria made of?

Cambria is pure, natural quartz, a stone right from the earth. Quartz is one of the hardest and most common minerals on earth, giving Cambria the rare combination of superior beauty and strength.

How is Cambria different from other quartz surfaces?

Cambria is the ONLY quartz surface produced in the United States of America; all of the other quartz products are imported. Therefore, Cambria’s color options are also significantly different, reflecting our knowledge and responsiveness to the American marketplace. Additionally, Cambria is a family owned company with more than 60 years of manufacturing experience.

Does Cambria withstand heat? Can I put a hot pan or pot on it?

Natural stone surfaces can be damaged by sudden and rapid change of temperature especially near the edges, as well as direct or sustained heating of the top. Cambria may not withstand the direct transfer of heat from pots and pans and other cooking units such as electric frying pans and griddles, and some crock-pots or roaster ovens and heat lamps. Therefore, the use of a hot pad or trivet is always recommended.

Does the limited warranty cover damage from heat?

No. The use of a hot pad or trivet is always recommended.

Is Cambria resistant to staining? Will Cambria stain?

Cambria is stain resistant. These materials do not leave stains on Cambria. Cambria’s nonporous surface provides resistance to staining and eliminates the nee for any sealing. Its nonporous surface also greatly reduces the potential for bacterial growth from food absorbing in your countertop.

Does the color go all the way through the Cambria product?

Yes, Cambria’s natural quartz and rich colors go all the way through the material.

Are Cambria designs consistent?

Cambria is a hard, dense and nonporous material that is consistent throughout its composition, making it more dependable in color, durability and fabrication than other stone materials.

Is Cambria seamless? Will I see a seam?

Cambria is a natural stone product that does require seams for any application longer than 120.5″ or wider than 53″. These seams are generally visible, but often less noticeable than a typical granite seam. Where there are seams the product pattern and shade can change (countertops).

Do you offer a warranty? What does the warranty include?

Cambria offers a Lifetime Limited Warranty for product defects for as long as the original owner owns the product.

How does Cambria compare to Corian® or other plastic solid surfaces?

Cambria is pure natural quartz, a stone crystal mined from the earth. Corian is 100% plastic polymer, it has NO stone in it. Cambria gives you the timeless beauty of natural stone with a harder and more durable surface.

Is Cambria a natural stone?

Yes. Cambria is pure natural quartz with a small amount of pigments and an epoxy resin. It contains no soft minerals like granite. The unique process results in a natural stone product of uncommon beauty and superior strength. It’s twice as strong as granite and is nonporous.

Is Cambria fake or synthetic granite?

No. Cambria is pure, natural quartz. Quartz is the extremely hard mineral that gives Cambria its strength. Granite is only about 40% to 60% quartz, along with other softer minerals and impurities. Cambria is not synthetic. It actually has more of the pure natural quartz that you want.

Is Cambria made or manufactured in a plant?

The Cambria facility produces natural quartz into slabs. We take pure natural quartz and combine it with a small amount of pigment and resin to create a slab of uncommon beauty and strength. This is done in our facility in LeSueur, Minnesota, the only one of its kind in the United States. By recombining the quartz in our facility, we are able to recreate the slabs to make them nonporous, strong and compact.

What range of Cambria products are available?

Cambria is an excellent surface choice for a wide variety of uses, including kitchen countertops, bathroom vanities, shower and tub surrounds, furniture tabletops and accent pieces, fireplace surrounds, desk tops, wet bar areas, and window sills. Cambria is available in 1cm, 2cm, and 3cm thickness. Many fabricators also offer edges that create the appearance of a thicker slab.

What are the unique benefits of Cambria?

Is Cambria resistant to surface damage?

Is Cambria safe for food preparation?

Where is Cambria's main facilities?

Cambria is a Minnesota company located just 45 minutes south of the Twin Cities in Le Sueur, MN.

How many colors is Cambria available in?

Visit our Color Palette to see our complete color selection.

What kind of sink can I use?

Cambria can be used with any under-mount or drop in sink, including stainless steel, cast iron, porcelain, or solid surface. Farm sinks can also be used.

How does Cambria's price compare to other natural stone or solid surface competitors? What does it cost?

Generally, Cambria prices are comparable to granite and other high-end countertop options. Our trade customers such as kitchen and bath dealers, fabricators, and contractors establish Cambria retail prices. Cambria works hard to provide simple pricing to all of our trade customers. For example, unlike other products, all Cambria colors are sold at the same price. Because most other products have complex pricing schemes that vary by color and edge, we recommend that you compare quotes for various surface options to correctly evaluate Cambria pricing.
